BSA Announces 2017 Harleston Parker Medal Shortlist

The Boston Society of Architects (BSA) has named four finalists for the 2017 Harleston Parker Medal. Inaugurated in 1921, the medal is bestowed upon buildings of outstanding beauty that are constructed in the city of Boston within the last decade. The winner will be announced on January 18, 2018 during the 7th annual BSA Design Awards Gala.

Yugon Kim of TKSP Architects Boston led this year’s 10-person jury, which also included Harvard University’s Anne Sophie Divenyi, AIA; Karen Goodfellow, Director of the Boston Art Commission; Malia Lazu, President of the EpiCenter Community; Continuum Principal Lee Moreau, AIA; Alexa Pinard, urban designer for the Boston Planning & Development Authority; Dante Ramos, Ideas Editor for The Boston Globe; Cynthia Smith, FASLA, Vice President and Principal of Halvorson Design Partnership; Kishore Varanasi, CBT Architects Principal; and Richard A. Yeager, AIA, Assistant Director of Planning and Design for Boston College.

The four shortlisted projects and firms are:
